Your surgeon
Miss Rahila Zakir, Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon.
Private practice
Private consultations are offered at The London Clinic Eye Centre on Harley Street and through Imperial Private Healthcare at the Western Eye Hospital. Surgery takes place at The London Clinic and at the Western Eye Hospital.
Rahila sees a range of eye conditions, including cataracts, and offers small-incision cataract surgery with a full range of premium lens implant options — including extended-depth lenses to reduce dependence on glasses, and toric lenses to correct astigmatism. As well as routine cataract surgery, Rahila manages complex cataracts and complications of cataract surgery.
Rahila also manages retinal conditions such as retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, retinal tears, diabetic retinopathy and maculopathy, macular oedema, vitreous haemorrhage, vitreomacular traction and eye trauma. Miss Zakir offers second opinions on retinal surgery management options, and also manages common medical retinal conditions including macular degeneration and retinal vein occlusions.
With her clinical experience at a busy London Eye Accident & Emergency Unit, she also manages acute and urgent presentations of a range of eye conditions.
